are Westside wine cellars made of? |
Handmade in wood.
We usually use white oak exteriors, but the "E" line and WC series use Luan Mahogany
and the Sonoma series Cherry wood exterior.

kind of wine racks does Westside Winecellars use? |
Generally the white oak cabinets have redwood and powder coated metal racks, the E and WC series
wood and aluminum, and the Sonoma all redwood.

is the insulation factor? |
The "R" factor
is approx. 11.6 because the walls are 13/4
inches thick, filled with rigid insulation by Celotex and a vapor barrier
on each side to keep the cold air in and the hot air out.

kind of cooling system is used? |
Top of the Line
WINE MATE, a combination cooling-humidifying unit that is UL approved in most units.

| What
is the BTU on standard models? |
1500 BTU for inside the home, or a controlled environment.
The upgraded 2500 for warmer climates and warmer situations. Unit must be vented properly.

| What
is the interior cubic footage of the cabinets? |
700 = 75 cubic
feet
440 = 45 cubic feet
250 = 28 cubic feet

is the electrical requirement? |
115 volt/60 cycles,
three amps on the 1500 BTU - 5 amps on the 2500 BTU - 9 amps on the
larger 3500 and 4500.

is the ideal temperature for aging wines gracefully? |
55oF
to 58oF. Wines will age faster at higher temperature.
|
|
|
| What
should be the distance between the cabinet and the back wall? |
Four to five inches,
so the warm air can escape and the fresh air be taken in. Air circulation
is imperative for proper function of the cooling system. For front exhaust
it can be placed to the wall, Top exhaust, need top and side clearance.

|
| Can they
be installed in a closet? |
Provided the Contractor is able to vent the unit properly.
|
|
|
| What
if the floor is not level? |
All have
either four or six levelers built in. The legs can be adjusted to a
range up to two inches.
|

| What
kind of wine racks are used for wine room quotes? |
Usually Redwood, but we can make any wine rack configuration.
Redwood and Metal, Wood and Aluminum, Variations in wood like Pine (less expensive) and Alder or Birch (more expensive).

kind of racks are used on the "E" Line? |
Each bottle rests on a wood and aluminum racking.
|

| What
size of bottles will fit? |
3 3/8 hold the smaller older bottles.
3 3/4 holds the new vineyard wines.

| Can you
make customized racking? |
Yes we can.
For example, 50 percent regular for 750ML; 20 percent
33/4 inch cubicles for some
Champagne and French burgundies; 10 percent 4" cubicles for Dom Perignon
etc.; and 10% for Magnums.

| Can the
wine cellar be dismantled and reassembled inside? |
It is sometimes
done when turns are too sharp, when the unit does not fit, or a diagonal
does not clear the ceiling. We supply a dismantling kit and instructions.
It takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to disassemble and reassemble
inside.

| Do you
use magnetic doors? |
Yes, to make the
tight sealing necessary for the functions of the wine cellar we apply
magnets to all stainless strips.
|

| Can I
control the temperature? |
Yes you can. In the manual shows
how to adjust the controller.If the temperature is too low, turn the temperature up or down a few
degrees and wait a couple of days for the unit to reach the ideal
temperature. What is ideal for you may not be so for someone else.

| Are they
space saving units? |
Yes, They are double deep.
Model 700 holds 350-500 depending on the racking chosen. Model 700 takes only 12
square feet of space.

| Do you
have restaurant models? |
Our wine cellars
can be used by restaurants, hotels, country clubs, etc.
|
|
| What
temperature do you recommended for white and red wines? |
For both red and
white, we recommend 55oF. Place the reds on
top, the whites on the bottom. The cold air is heavier and sinks.

| Can you
hand customize a wine cellar? |
We do it constantly.
Any size, any style, any shape, any wood, any color. Just give us the
dimensions and specifications, we do the rest.

| Do you
have different designs? |
Yes we have dozens
of styles of glass doors; thermal, double pane, vacuum sealed and tempered
glass; over 50 kinds of beveled doors and windows of great beauty; and
one hundred kinds of carved doors and laminates.

| Can I
pick up my wine cellar? |
Yes you can. .
|
|
| How do
you ship the wine cellars? |
In Southern California
from Santa Barbara to San Diego and Bakersfield to Palm Springs, we
use a local delivery service. Cabinets we use white glove delivery service.
They deliver and place the unit inside the home for you.

| Can you
finish the cabinets to customer specifications? |
Yes, we do very
often. Have the customer give us a sample and we will try to match it.

also make walk in wine cabinets? |
Yes, we do, in
any size from 1000 bottles to 20,000 bottles or more. Our modular panels
are fully insulated. It will take two men a full day to assemble one,
including floor, walls, ceiling, cooling system, door, lighting wine
racks, and case racks.

| Do you
have different voltage systems? |
YES we do. We do
have the standard 115 volt 60Hz for the U.S., Canada and many countries.
We also have the 220 volt 50 Hz for Europe and many other countries.

| What
size cubicles do you make? |
33/8
for 750ML - 33/4 for French
Burgundies- 4" cubicles for Dom Perignon etc. 41/2
inch cubicles for Magnums.The 750ML will fit into the 4", they will
not fit and go through on the 41/2
inch cubicles. For splits we recommend using 33/8
cubicle. Three splits will fit 3 units per cubicle on a 22" deep rack.
